In the Longest Yard trailer, Adam Sandler derisively refers to a bearded old man in a white suit as "Colonel Sanders". Didn't he do that in The Waterboy too? WTF? I can't figure out if it's supposed to be self-referential, or if he honestly doesn't know when he's recycling gags from his old movies. There's something wrong with his medulla oblongata!

I believe there's also a "you can do it" moment, leading to the self-referential explanation.

hm, guess I missed that part the first time. even so, I could see "you can do eet" as a recycleable greatest hit, but is the Colonel Sanders line really good enough to not only use again, but use in the trailer?

I'm not sure either is funny. Was definitely not commenting on the successfulness of the joke, more just on its intention. Unfortunately, _The Longest Yard_ looks pretty crappy.
